This is a super easy recipe that I think you are really going to enjoy! Especially if you are new to the vegetarian lifestyle and looking for something similar to a burger.
How to clean your portabella mushrooms the proper way:
Take a damp paper towel and gently rub the caps of the mushrooms. Then take a spoon and scrape out the gills from the bottom of the mushroom. That’s it! Easy peasy! Now your mushrooms are ready!
- 4 Portabella Mushrooms
- 3 TBL Tamari Sauce
- 1 tsp Steak Seasoning
- 4 Slices Swiss Cheese
- Lettuce or Spinach
- 4 Slices Tomato
- 4 Hamburger Buns (toasted)
- Oil for grill
- Mix the tamari sauce together with the steak seasoning and brush on top of your cleaned portabella caps. Let stand for 10 minutes. Reserve extra marinade sauce.
- Warm your indoor grill to medium heat. Cook your mushrooms for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until desired tenderness is achieved. Remove from heat and baste again with reserved marinade.
- Dress your sandwich with the lettuce/spinach, tomato, and Swiss cheese. ENJOY!
