It can be tricky to get my little kiddo to eat healthy foods. He use to LOVE apples and then one day, POOF! He hated them! So I got a little sneaky and remembered that when he was a baby he would eat cinnamon apple cubes all the time. I would get them from one of those big name baby brands.
Then I thought, it’s just apples! What is this other stuff in here and why? And seriously it’s JUST APPLES! So why was I buying the precut anyways? LOL! I’m honestly not a lazy person! 😉
So I created my own healthy version of those apple cubes. No weird stuff and no added sugar! To spark some interest I came up with a creative name for them. “Apple Pie” did the trick and my son loves this yummy healthy snack. I like to use Simply Organic Cinnamon. I feel better knowing it’s the good stuff.
So this is so crazy easy that you just might laugh.
It honestly doesn’t matter what kind of apples you use. I like both red and green apples and luckily so does my son. I just buy whichever ones are on sale.
*Peel your apple really and cut off the sides of the apple away from the core. Then just dice away!
*Add about 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon to your diced apples and stir them up. I actually toss mine into a small container with a lid and give it a good shake. This seems to be the best way to coat all the pieces evenly. That’s it!
- 1 Apple
- ⅛ tsp Organic Cinnamon
- Wash and peel your apple.
- Cut the sides of the apple off and toss the core.
- Add ⅛ tsp of cinnamon and stir the apples well. You may put the apples and cinnamon into a small container and shake for a more even coat.
No more buying that other stuff premade!
